Anonymous asked: Is it normal to not understand how numbers work? In general every day matters (shopping, checkbook balancing etc) I remember enough to just barely scrape by. I feel incredibly stupid & that it's holding me back. I'd like to have the option of going to college but to pass a test like the SAT or even for a high school diploma, I'd fail miserably. I've looked at pre testing books & it's like looking at a foreign language. What can I do?
Lots of people are terrible with numbers. It can range anywhere from just plain sucking at math (like me) to dyslexia. Test prep books are always intimidating. Your best option is to take an actual test prep class. Lots of high schools offer them, and if not, lots of community colleges will host a night class for them.
