Anonymous asked: I've been running for nearly 2 years, and a few months ago, I started running more seriously. I am also taking my food intake more seriously. I do eat unhealthy foods sometimes, but my parents think I'm depriving myself when I chose not to. Honestly, I don't crave it much. I am 5'1, and about 100 lbs, and my parents keep insisting I have an eating disorder, although I usually have at LEAST 1500 calories. I am forced to weigh myself; they think about my weight hella more than I do. HELP.
I think you need to explain the nutritional facts to them that they probably don’t understand. Before I worked out, if you gave me a spiel about macronutrients I would have just nodded my head and walked away. There is nothing wrong with being healthy, but some people will always slam you for this. Whether it’s because you take up all the space in the living room with your yoga gear, or your stinky running shoes linger by the door, or they know they should be healthy like you but aren’t, it doesn’t matter. You know you’re healthy. You take care of your body. They need to understand that and respect it. You don’t try to take all their junk food away, they shouldn’t be trying to take your salads.
